Linda Denise Blair was born on January 22,1959 in St. Louis (Missouri,Usa),daughter of Elinore Leich and Jim Blair. At age two she moved to Westport with her family and at the young age of six she began modeling. Then Linda appeared in tv series (as "Hidden Faces" in 1968) and magazines for children.
Linda's true career started in 1973,when director William Friedkin choses her for the role of Regan MacNeil in "The Exorcist". In time Linda was just fourteen, and the movie was very hard,in fact Blair's character,Regan,is a normal and sweet twelve years old girl who gets possessed by the devil and became a blasfem and evil monster.
But Linda did her part in an excellent way,and the movie had an awesome success. But in last years,Linda's career fall down, because she was always identified with the role of possessed Regan and directors offered her just to act in indipendent movies : horrors (b-movies) and controversials movies. In 1974   and 1975 Blair acted in the movies "Born Innocent" and "Sarah T. - Portrait Of a Teenage Alcoholic" (based on true stories): in the first she is a school girl who gets raped by other girls in a reformatory and in the second a young girl who starts to drink undercover. These two movies gave the proof that Linda is a talented young actress. In next years Blair acted in other minor movies; and in 1977 she reprised her role in "Exorcist II - The Heretic" (sequel of the famous movie, directed by William Friedkin, that gave to Linda the fame). The movie had not much success and Blair,at eighteen, said to the media that "Exorcist II - The Heretic" was her career's ruin. In 80s Linda acted in some other movies, some prohibited to minors,as "Chained Heat"(1983) or "Red Heat"(1985) and also in a comic movie called "Night Patrol"(1984). In 90s things went in the same way,we saw Linda in others minors movies, and in the comic movie "Repossessed"   (1990)spoof of "The Exorcist".
Today Linda Blair is an activist for "PETA" and founded her own "The Linda Blair World Heart Foundation (please,go at http://www.lindablairworldheart.org) for rescue and adoption of animals. I think she's a very brilliant and precious person and a great actress.
